In most cases we open the door without drilling, using special tools. Once you are inside, everything works as before. You pay by debit card when the door is open, and we speak English, so you can explain the situation in your own words.
This makes a real difference. Many Dutch front doors have a latch that catches when the door closes. If the door simply fell shut, we can usually open it quickly. If it is locked with the key on the night lock, it takes more work.
