Updated on 6 October 2026Previous owners, earlier tenants, a cleaner, a neighbour who watered the plants: after a move you do not know how many copies of your key are around. Replacing the cylinders in your outside doors is the easiest way to be sure.
It is a quick job. Our technician measures the door, fits a cylinder of the right length and checks that everything locks smoothly. We speak English and explain your options, so you can choose what suits your home and budget.
A standard cylinder costs from € 69 including fitting. For outside doors we usually advise SKG**, from € 89. SKG is the Dutch testing institute for locks, and two stars is the level many insurers ask for.
An SKG*** cylinder, from € 125, adds core pulling protection, which makes it much harder to pull the core out. Security fittings that cover the cylinder cost from € 145 per door.
With keyed-alike cylinders, one key opens your front door, back door and shed. A set of two costs from € 149 including fitting. These always come as a set, so mention it when we call you back.
Security keys with an ownership card can only be copied when the card is shown, from € 15 per key. Standard spare keys cost from € 4.50, cut in our van.
Locked out right now? We help you straight away.
Many internationals rent, near High Tech Campus, close to TU/e or in Strijp-S. The locks usually belong to the landlord or housing corporation. Check your rental contract or ask your landlord before you change anything.
We keep your old cylinder aside so you can put it back when you leave, which avoids discussions about your deposit. Some landlords prefer to arrange the work themselves, so ask first.
If you own the home, the locks are yours to replace. We advise doing it in the first week. The same applies if you lose keys with your address on them, or if your bag is stolen.
Our technician can also check the other locks on your outside doors and tell you what meets the Dutch Police Label for Safe Housing. That advice is free, and you hear every price before work starts.
